Apple: Tell us the Truth

Apple doesn’t give us much information. Experts find their tax filings confusing and sparse. Apple will tell us they pay a lot of taxes. So Apple, answer these questions:

• Apple, why are you spending millions to lobby Congress for more tax loopholes? How much will you avoid paying if Congress gives you another “tax holiday?"
• Why don’t you pay your fair share of U.S. taxes on your foreign earnings? At a time of huge public service cuts and fiscal austerity, why should we the taxpayers give you another $4 Billion tax break?
• Did you REALLY earn only 13.9% of your profits in the US? OR are you shuffling your patents and your profits to offshore tax havens like Ireland and the Netherlands? Show us where those profits are earned.
• In 2004, when Congress and the American taxpayer gave you a $255 million “tax holiday,” did you use it to create jobs in the U.S.? If so, how many?
