US Uncut

***We are changing location to 2 N. Queen St. next to Penn Square in Lancaster. Let's meet in the plaza that connects Central Market and Bank of America at 11:00.

On Saturday, February 26, from 11:00 - 1:00, we will gather in protest at the Bank of America on the square in Lancaster to draw attention to the fact that Bank of America received over $45 billion in government bailout funds while funneling its tax dollars into 115 offshore tax havens, essentially paying no taxes. Taxpayers, through the bailout, gave these billions of dollars to a company that a few weeks prior to the bailout purchased Merrill Lynch, a floundering, dying business, for $50 Billion dollars. The first quarter after the purchase, Merrill Lynch posted losses of $15 Billion. In one quarter! The executives at Bank of America and Merrill Lynch did not suffer though, many of them received multi-million dollar bonuses!

How many more public sector workers will be laid off, how many elderly and poor people must lose the services they need to barely get by, and how many kids will be denied a college education so the corporations and their owners can ceaselessly feed their greed?

This will be a peaceful protest. Depending on how many people show up we will either hold signs and distribute flyers (I will provide the flyers - Please bring your own signs) in the parking lot, or if we get enough people, we can do as they do in England and fill the bank lobby and interrupt "business as usual". That's the kind of action we really need to take. That's the kind of action that has brought change in England.

We MUST make a stand! This issue effects everyone and cuts across all political party lines. Any and all citizens welcome!
